Credit Suisse bolsters its equity capabilities with the establishment of a new Asia Pacific quant strategy team, led by a trio of former Deutsche Bank researchers.
The Asia Pacific quantitive and systematic strategy (QSS) team will be led by Will Stephens who was most recently the head of Asian equity and delta one strategy with Deutsche Bank. Stephens has 20 years of experience in buy and sell-side research, specializing in a myriad of areas including thematic, macro equity, relative value, quantitative, capital structure and implementation strategies.
Former Deutsche Bank colleagues, Elita Lai and Dave Yin, will also join the Hong Kong-based team as equity quantitive strategist and quantitive analyst, respectively.
Fundamental and Quant
In addition to the existing quant capabilities, the team will also combine expertise and data from Credit Suisse’s proprietary analytical platform, «HOLT», to generate investment ideas targeted at hedge funds and private banking clients. This will bode well for Stephens given his track record in developing data-driven strategies that are able to complement fundamental views with quantitive inputs, the bank's release highlighted.
«The formation of the [QSS] team underscores our continued efforts to provide top-tier differentiated advisory content,» commented Erica Poon Werkun, Credit Suisse’s head of equity research, Asia Pacific.
