The Swiss firm that provides digital banking software-as-a-service solutions (SaaS) has named a new managing director, who will be responsible for development in a region it considers a strategic key market.
Crealogix has appointed Karsten Kemna as managing director of the Asia-Pacific region, the firm announced in a statement on Wednesday.
His predecessor, Pascal Wengi, who has been with the firm since 2014 and held the role of Asia-Pacific MD since July 2017, has left the firm, a spokesperson confirmed.
The firm said Kemna will continue to drive Crealogix's group-wide expansion and transformation in the region, where it is making «far-reaching investments in order to strengthen the local organization on a sustainable basis.» It added that it hopes to address the growing demand for digital products in wealth management, retail banking and corporate banking in the region.
Industry Expert
Kemna brings an intimate and deep knowledge of the region and industry, having lived in Singapore for the past 13 years and held senior positions with APAC-wide responsibility at various firms.
He spent 16 years in sales and managing the banking division at IT solutions provider Diebold Nixdorf (formerly Wincor Nixdorf). Most recently, Kemna was Asia-Pacific managing director for Swiss banking software provider ERI Bancaire.
Ongoing Transformation
Kemna's appointment follows the January appointment of Crealogix's new CEO, Oliver Weber, who continues the transformation program put in place by former chief executive Thomas Avedik.
Under his charge, Avedik consolidated the firm's products offered in a SaaS product platform and global organization throughout the group.
