VP Bank announced a reorganization in Asia alongside the addition of a senior wealth planner.
Singapore head of intermediaries Thomas Jost will leave the bank and be succeeded by 15-year banker Markus Wolf, effective August 1. Wolf joined the VP Bank in 2019 and will report to interim head of Singapore Thomas Rupf.
VP Bank also appointed Luca Kast to the newly created role of business manager, Asia, reporting to chief of staff Asia Heline Lam, effective August 16. Kast has been with the bank for four years and is currently Singapore deputy head of operations.
Singapore head of private banking Karen Tan will continue leading the business unit, reporting to Rupf.
Hong Kong Shuffle
15-year VP banker Clare Lam will retire from her role as chief representative and head of Hong Kong on September 30, according to a statement, assuming the role of senior advisor effective October 1.
Lam will be succeeded by Reto Marx who will transition from his current role as head of intermediaries and private banking, Singapore.
Marx will relocate from Singapore to Hong Kong and report to Asia chief executive Pamela Hsu Phua.
Wealth Planning Expansion
VP Bank also announced the hire of executive director and senior wealth planning specialist Esther Fung to support Singapore and Hong Kong.
Esther has over 20 years of wealth planing and family office experience, having previously worked for DBS, Equity Trust and BNP Paribas.
