She will be leading the Swiss private bank's initiatives to expand its European client base for South Asia.

Ultra-high net worth specialist Grace Champion has joined Union Bancaire Priveé as senior private banker, and will lead the European coverage of private clients booking into Singapore, according to a LinkedIn post this week.

UBP confirmed the move in a note to finews.asia, saying she will be based in Singapore and report to Ranjit Khanna, head of South Asia and Singapore branch chief executive.  

Champion joins UBP from Barclays, where she has held a variety of roles since 2011, most recently as head of European partner team, fiduciaries and funds, private bank.

UBP has been strengthening its front office and investment advisory teams with several senior appointments across in Hong Kong and Singapore, with a focus on South Asia, including senior wealth practitioner Jasmine Er as market head, key clients for South Asia, and Frank Gan, an experienced multi-asset practitioner, who joined its South Asia team.

«The demand for multi-jurisdiction booking is high within the private banking sector and Singapore is a key financial hub which private and institutional clients recognise and desire,» Champion said on LinkedIn, announcing her move.
