Deutsche Bank's wealth management arm has formed a new Southeast Asia team with the hire of three former Credit Suisse bankers.
Deutsche Bank Wealth Management has appointed Urs Brudermann as managing director and group head of Southeast Asia, according to a statement, reporting to head of Southeast Asia Shang-Wei Chow.
Brudermann has over 20 years of wealth management experience, joining from Credit Suisse where he was last a team leader for the Thai market. He started his career in Switzerland with UBS before spending 11 years at Credit Suisse in leadership positions managing teams across Singapore and Hong Kong.
Ex-CS Team
The German private bank has also hired ex-Credit Suisse bankers Shawn Ngoh and Pichaya Prawanmeet as director and vice president, respectively, as part of the new Southeast Asia team.
Ngoh is primarily an ultra-high net worth banker for the Southeast Asia market and was most recently a director at Credit Suisse. He previously also worked for UOB and Citi. Prawanmeet previously worked for Kasikorn in addition to Credit Suisse.
Continued Expansion
According to Chow, the latest hires are part of broader ambitions for regional growth. «This new team is part of the ongoing expansion strategy of Southeast Asia,» Chow said.
«We will continue to make strategic hires in the region to support clients’ needs. Deutsche Bank is on the right path [to] building sustainable profitability. The team will continue to expand over the coming months, as we continue to expand our footprint across Southeast Asia.»
