Monroe Capital has hired Alex Kim as a managing director and head of Asia, according to a statement.
Kim has over 20 years of asset management and banking experience, most recently from Aberdeen Standard Investments where he was its chief executive of Korea and head of Southeast Asia institutions. Previously, he also worked for Russell Investments, Royal Bank of Scotland and PIMCO.
«[Kim] is a great addition to lead our institutional efforts as well as show our commitment to the Asian community,» said R. Sean Duff, managing director and partner at Monroe Capital. «He brings with him many great relationships across the region.»

«We look forward to continued strategic growth and expansion into the Asian markets,» said Monroe Capital president and CEO Ted Koenig. «Over the last few years, we have seen more and more interest in the Monroe platform from Korean and Asian investors. This is a great opportunity to expand our footprint in this region.»
