Global law firm Sidley Austin has appointed a new China corporate and finance partner, formerly from Freshfields Brockhaus Derginer.
Steven Hsu joins Sidley Austin in the new role, according to a statement, after his most recent role as a counsel in corporate and M&A practice at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Previously, Hsu has also advised major Chinese firms on Hong Kong and U.S. IPOs in various sectors including technology, finance, consumer goods, life sciences, real estate, and infrastructure.
His experience spans across equity capital market transactions alongside corporate governance and regulatory compliance matters.
«[Hsu] has close working relationships with senior bankers in U.S., European, and Chinese investment banks,» said Constance Choy Sidley Austin's APAC managing partner and member of the management and executive committee. «His experience advising on multibillion-dollar Hong Kong IPOs and his deep understanding of capital markets, including navigating through due diligence issues related to the ever-evolving regulatory environment, will be valued by our clients.»
