A 27-year Citi veteran has been named as the new country officer for Vietnam.
Ramachandran A.S. has been named country officer (CCO) for Citi Vietnam, according to a statement, after relocating to Ho Chi Minh City in September and receiving approval from the State Bank of Vietnam for his new role in December.
Ramachandran is a 27-year Citi veteran as was previously the London-based global emerging markets coverage head for the bank’s global subsidiaries group. Prior to that, he was leading regional relationship coverage in Singapore for the bank’s largest APAC multinational clients.
Vietnam Presence
Citi first established its Vietnam presence in 1994 and now has two branches in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with a workforce totaling close to 900.
«[Ramachandran's] corporate banking experience in both emerging and developed markets as well as his deep appreciation of the diversity of globalizing clients will be vital to our ongoing commitment to our clients in Vietnam and in the region,» said Citi’s Singapore-based ASEAN head Amol Gupte.
«ASEAN, including Vietnam, is a strategic priority for Citi and with the appointment of RamC as Vietnam CCO, we are well-positioned for future growth in the country.»
