UBS continues to bolster its sustainable finance capabilities with the hire of a new duo in the Asia Pacific region, finews.asia has learned.
Esther Tsang and Beatrice Faessler join UBS’ APAC sustainable finance office, according to an internal memo seen by finews.asia, as ESG corporate strategy lead and ESG project manager, respectively.
In their newly created roles, they both report to Tasos Zavitsanakis, head of sustainable finance office, Greater China.
Tsang was most recently with Bloomberg Intelligence where she was an ESG analyst focused on the region’s trends including market and regulations updates, climate change, carbon emissions and corporate governance and linking performance to financial value. Previously, she was also ESG consulting manager at Ernst & Young.
Faessler shifts internally in the bank from her last role as a cross-asset specialist for ultra-high net worth and global family office clients in APAC. Prior to moving to Hong Kong, she was a business strategist for UBS in Zurich where she built up the wealth management arm’s sustainable investing research and offering capabilities.
A spokesperson for the bank confirmed the new appointments.
