Brokerage firm Haitong International has appointed three managing directors for its institutional client segment.

Scott Darling and Pingzi Ji join Haitong International as managing directors of equity research, according to a statement. 

Darling joins the global energy research team following 16 years of equity research experience, most recently as head of APAC energy equity research at J.P. Morgan.

Ji will be responsible for riding the firm’s China and Japan research firms. She has 20 years of experience, most recently as executive director of senior consumer specialty sales at SMBC Nikko Securities. 

Fixed Income

Outside of equities, Haitong International has also hired Karen Jin as managing director of fixed income sales and trading with responsibilities for business development, relationship management as well as supporting sales and marketing strategy development and product development.

Jin has 16 years of experience, most recently with Bank of America as its director of Chian FICC sales.

Rapid Expansion

Haitong International has been expanding rapidly as of late, with numerous key hires from globe financial institutions.  

It hired ex-Pictet Asset Management executive Cayla Fan as head of business development last month and former UBS executive Hyde Chan as head of investment strategy in November.
