State Street veteran to bolster its regional and Australian wholesale and institutional investor business.
Asset manager abrdn has named Raf Choudhury as investment director for the Asia Pacific multi-asset investment solutions (MAIS) team, according to a press release sent Wednesday.
The move is expected to boost the wholesale and institutional investors as well as financial advisory groups and investment platforms offering in Asia, including Australia.
Choudhury will also lead the Australian multi-asset funds business and expand managed accounts services there.
Based in Australia
Previously, Choudhury spent 17-years at State Street Global Advisors in various portfolio manager roles in the U.K. and Australia, with his last position being State Street’s head of investment strategy and research in Australia.
Choudhury, who will be based in Sydney, and report to Irene Goh, the head of MAIS for the Asia Pacific region.
The investment manager said the MAIS team numbers more than 100 people and manages over $61 billion.
