Deepali Bhargava joins the Netherlands-based financial institution from KKR and will lead the research team in the region.
ING announced on Wednesday that it had appointed Deepali Bhargava as the new head of research and chief economist for the Asia Pacific region.
Although she is joining them from Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co (KKR), where she led macroeconomic analysis activities for India, Southeast Asia, and Australia, with an emphasis on private markets, she is, in fact, returning to the fold of the largest bank in the Netherlands, given she previously worked for them in India where she was recognized as a leading forecaster for the USD/INR currency pair in 2010 and 2011.
Strategic Insights
Previous to KKR, she was employed at Credit Suisse and her expertise comprises the identification of macroeconomic trends, and the forecasting of economic and earnings cycles while providing strategic insights into interest rates and currency movements.
She succeeds Robert Carnell, who is retiring after leading the research team in the region since 2017.
