DBS Group appoints an outside expert to its board sustainability committee (BSC).

Southeast Asia's largest bank, DBS, named industry expert Ben Caldecott to its board sustainability committee (BSC), which was set up in March as a way of advancing the bank's net-zero commitments.

Caldecott is the founding director of the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group at Oxford University, the bank said in a statement.

He holds the first endowed professorship of sustainable finance at the university (the Lombard Odier Associate Professor of Sustainable Finance) and is an advisory board member of Climate Impact X, a joint venture between DBS, Singapore Exchange (SGX), Standard Chartered Bank, and Singapore’s state-owned investment company Temasek Holdings.

DBS's BSC is chaired by bank chief executive Piyush Gupta, and members comprise DBS board members Chng Kai Fong, Judy Lee and Tham Sai Choy.
