Citi announced the appointment of a longstanding 19-year executive as its Asia head of custody.
Citi appoints Aditya Sharma as Asia head of custody, according to a statement. Based in Singapore, Sharma reports globally to global head of direct custody and clearing Matthew Bax as well as regionally to APAC head of securities services David Russell.
Sharma has spent 19 years at Citi, most recently as its South Asia head of securities services for the last four years. Previously, he also held various roles across multiple units including the institutional client group (CG), markets, direct custody and clearing, and treasury and trade solutions.
A search for Sharma's replacement will commence immediately.
According to the bank, Citi has around $24 trillion in gross assets under custody across its global custody and sub-custodian services.
