Talent outflows persist at Credit Suisse, this time with the exit of its Singapore chief. A successor internally has been selected.
Credit Suisse Singapore CEO Wong Chien Chien is leaving the bank to pursue interests elsewhere, according to an internal memo seen by finews.asia.
Wong will be succeeded by Rehan Anwer, who will retain his existing roles as Southeast Asia CEO and head of Southeast Asia investment banking and capital markets (IBCM). Dominique Boer also becomes Singapore deputy CEO, in addition to her current roles as SymAsia Foundation CEO and wealth management market group head Singapore and Singapore booking center.
Both appointments are subject to regulatory approval. A spokesperson for the bank confirmed the changes.
Since 1992
Wong began her career with CS First Boston in 1992 and has held key leadership roles across Singapore, Hong Kong and New York. Within the APAC division, she was previously its chief operating officer, alongside other top roles in the investment banking and fixed income units in the region.
Anwer joined Credit Suisse in 2007 and previously worked at Deutsche Bank for nearly 10 years in Singapore, Indonesia and Pakistan, covering various emerging markets in Asia.
Talent outflows persist at the troubled Swiss lender which recorded a loss of 7.3 billion Swiss francs ($7.9 billion) in 2022. In Asia, notable senior exits include APAC IBCM vice chair Zeth Hung as well as APAC wealth management deputy CEO Young Jin Yee, who subsequently joined Deutsche Bank.
