Zurich-headquartered EFG has expanded its front office in Asia with the hire of eight new private bankers coming from Credit Suisse, Bank of Singapore and more.
EFG has hired eight new client relationship officers (CROs) in its Hong Kong and Singapore branch, according to a statement.

Hong Kong Branch
Within the Hong Kong branch, the bank added five CROs. This includes ex-Credit Suisse director Elvis Lau as head of independent asset managers, Hong Kong, reporting to Hong Kong head of private banking Jessica Ng.
Edward Chan joins as a 35-year financial veteran reporting directly to Ng. He was most recently working at Bank of Singapore as a team head for the Greater China North Asia market and previously also worked at Bank of China International, Barclays, Standard Chartered, Coutts, UBS and Citi, serving ultra-high net worth clients in China.
Ex-Nomura private banker and senior director Alex Chang joins as a CRO reporting to private banking team head Michelle Wu. Chang has over 20 years of international wealth management experience in Hong Kong and Seoul.
Ryan Zhao, former investment advisor at RBC Investment Services Hong Kong, will report to private banking team head Joel Goh. Zhao has around 15 years of wealth experience in China and Hong Kong and previously also worked at BNP Paribas, Standard Chartered, DBS and UOB.
Also joining from Credit Suisse, where she was a relationship manager in the Greater China external asset manager team, is Flora Law. In the role, Law reports to ex-colleague Lau.
Singapore Branch
And within the Singapore branch, EFG hired Nicholas Yee, Shubhra Pandey and Jolene Zhang as CROs. Yee and Zhang report to deputy head of private banking and Greater China, Southeast Asia team head Tay Yu Jin. Pandey reports to Oliver Balmelli, head of private banking, Southeast Asia.
Yee has over 20 years of banking experience, most recently at Bank of Singapore as a relationship manager in the Greater China and North Asia team. Previously, he spent several years at Bloomberg as a sales trader and execution consultant.
Pandey has almost 15 years of banking experience and joins from Standard Chartered, where she was a relationship manager focused on the UAE market. Previously, she also worked at First Abu Dhabi Bank.
Prior to joining EFG, Zhang was a Greater China relationship manager at DBS. She has 10 years of private banking experience and previously also worked at UOB Private Bank and Bank of Singapore.
