Natixis CIB announces two new appointments for its global market leadership team in Australia.
Thomas Moffat, a former director of BNP Paribas, has joined Natixis CIB as head of global markets sales for Australia and New Zealand, according to an announcement.
Moffat’s new role is retroactively effective from 1 May 2023, and he is based in Australia. He has a joint reporting line to Janie Wittey, Natixis CIB’s senior country manager for Australia, and Ashish Jain, head of global market sales for Southeast Asia and Australia.
Further Development of Australian Markets
Moffat will be responsible for the further development of the Australian global markets franchise as well as strengthening relationships with Natixis CIB’s institutional clients, which are being targeted as they are considered strategic by the bank. At BNP Paribas, Moffat’s most recent role was as head of Singapore and Australia credit sales. Prior to this, he worked with UBS Sydney from 2004 to 2016.
Natixis CIB also appointed Oscar Austin as head of global structured credit and solutions (GSCS) syndicate for APAC. He will report to Wittey as well as to Fabrice Guesde, head of credit markets and GSCS for APAC.
Across All Global Market Assets
In his new role, Austin will be working jointly with global markets sales and loan syndicate and is responsible for coordinating the distribution of GSCS products throughout APAC.
Austin joined Natixis CIB in 2014 as part of the global markets team in Australia. He initially covered fixed income before taking on a role across all global market assets.
