Northern Trust Asset Management has announced a new head of its international business, as part of organisational changes under new leadership.
Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) appoints John McCareins as a head of international, according to a statement, overseeing both the EMEA and APAC regions.
In the newly created role, McCareins will lead regional and country strategies, manage daily operations, regulatory affairs and relationships with other businesses, and build out local capabilities tailored to the regional clientele. A series of country managers will report to him while he continues to report to NTAM president Daniel Gamba.
McCareins was most recently the head of asset management for the APAC region at the firm.
Leadership Changes
The appointment is part of broader organizational changes under the new leadership of Gamba. Other moves include the appointment of Michael Hunstad as deputy chief investment officer (CIO) and CIO of global equities as well as Sheri Hawkins as head of investment platform services.
