Asset management giant BlackRock has unveiled the new leadership in Asia, including a regional head for APAC.
BlackRock appoints Susan Chan as head of Asia Pacific, according to a statement, succeeding Rachel Lord who relocates to London to take on a new role as head of international.
Based in Hong Kong, Chan will be responsible for leading the APAC region and overseeing the full range of business, client, investment and operational platforms serving wealth and institutional investors across the firm's offerings.
Chan has more than three decades of experience in financial services and asset management. She first joined BlackRock in 2013 and was most recently its deputy head of APAC, head of Greater China as well as head of trading, liquidity and lending for APAC. Previously, she also worked at Deutsche Bank and Barclays.
Regional Deputies
BlackRock has also named Andrew Landman and Hiroyuki Shimizu as deputy heads of APAC. Landman will retain his role as head of Australasia while taking on the expanded role to oversee Southeast Asia and the APAC wealth business. Shimizu will continue to lead the APAC institutional business and expand his remit to cover Taiwan, in addition to Japan and South Korea.
APAC head of wealth James Raby will take on the role of chief operating officer for APAC while Hua Fan becomes head of China. The appointments are effective immediately.
