A Citi veteran in Asia has retired after 26 years with the US bank. A successor has also been announced. 

Angel Ng has decided to retire from Citi after 26 years with the bank, according to a statement. She joined the US lender in 1998 and held various senior roles for its Hong Kong unit including head of retail banking, head of wealth management, head of cards and consumer business manager. In 2018, she was named Hong Kong and Macau CEO before becoming the head of Asia for Citi’s wealth business in 2022.

She was most recently Asia North and Australia cluster and banking head, overseeing Citi’s franchise in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Korea, New Zealand and Taiwan.

Successor

Current Japan cluster and banking head Marc Luet will be appointed Asia North and Australia cluster and banking head, effective April 1. Based in Hong Kong, he will be responsible for geographic management and legal entity management across the cluster, as well as oversight of products and banking segments and local client engagement and delivery across all business lines. He will retain responsibilities for Japan until a successor has been named.

Luet was previously country officer and CEO at Citi for various geographies including Australia and New Zealand, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Poland, Turkey and Israel. He also led the consumer banking business in EMEA.
