US investment manager Brown Advisory has appointed a head of North Asia ex-Japan, based in Singapore.
Brown Advisory has appointed Yoon Bean Kim as head of North Asia (ex-Japan), according to a statement, based in Singapore. Working closely with head of APAC Walter Beckett and his team, Kim will be tasked with creating new opportunities amongst institutional investors and financial intermediaries as well as opening new markets.
Kim joins from Fullerton Asset Management in Singapore, where he was predominantly responsible for establishing a presence and growing sales in South Korea. Prior to that, he worked at J.P. Morgan Asset Management for eight years.

Brown Advisory first established a presence in Singapore in 2019 before opening a Tokyo office in 2023 and appointing Toshiyuki Murasawa as head of distribution in Japan.
As of 28 June 2024, the firm had $3.5 billion in assets managed out of the region and $157.0 billion globally.
