The private wealth arm of Deutsche Bank has hired former executives for Julius Baer and Credit Suisse for the global South Asia market.

Deutsche Bank Private Bank has appointed Puneesh Nayar as a market head for the global South and Africa franchise, according to a statement. Based in Singapore, he reports to Rajesh Mahadevan, head of global South Asia & Africa, private bank emerging markets. 

Nayar has more than 20 years of industry experience, most recently at Julius Baer where he was a senior team head for global India since 2016. Prior to that, he also worked at BSI Bank, Coutts and HSBC.

Dubai-Based Market Head

The German private bank also named Nick Malik as a market head for the same franchise, based in Dubai and reporting to Mahadevan.

Malik rejoins the bank after working most recently at the now-defunct Credit Suisse. In his previous stint, he was group head at Deutsche Bank for six years until 2022. Prior to that, he worked at Standard Chartered Private Bank and Coutts.
