Insurance broker Charles Monat Associates has hired a seasoned wealth planner as its deputy CEO for Hong Kong.
Teddy Chu has been appointed as deputy chief executive officer for Charles Monat in Hong Kong, according to a statement. In the role, he is tasked with further developing and strengthening the Greater China business while working closely with APAC CEO Berry Wong to meet the global demands for bespoke high net worth legacy planning solutions.
Chu has over 25 years of experience in Asia and previously worked at the private banking arms of HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered, BNP Paribas and Royal Bank of Canada. He is also a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) of Canada and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) of the UK.

Charles Monat Associates has been experiencing accelerating business momentum. Between 2021 to 2023, it averaged 26 percent year-on-year growth globally followed by 61 percent growth year-to-date in 2024. In Hong Kong, it has achieved 124 percent business growth this year while already matching all revenue generated in 2023.
