New York-based J.P. Morgan has appointed a head of tech, media and telecommunications for China, finews.asia has learned.

J.P. Morgan has appointed Ruo Yang as head of technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) for China, according to an internal memo seen by finews.asia. In the role, he will report to Mark Fiteny, head of TMT, Asia Pacific as well as David Lau and Michelle Wang, co-heads of investment banking, China.

Yang has more than a decade of investment banking experience, previously serving as a managing director of Citi’s TMT team. He was most recently chief financial officer at Shopline after working at Fosun as co-chief financial officer.
