Global index provider MSCI has announced the appointment of a new head of Asia Pacific client coverage.
MSCI has appointed Shane Edwards as head of APAC client coverage, according to a statement, reporting to chief client officer Axel Kilian. He succeeds Kazuya Nagasawa who will leave the firm to pursue new opportunities.
Edwards has 25 years of experience in the financial sector. Prior to joining MSCI in 2024, Edwards was the global head of equity derivatives at UBS. Previously, he also worked at RBS/ABN Amro, Deutsche Bank and Macquarie Bank.
Based in Sydney, Edwards will also have interim responsibility for his current role as head of Australia and New Zealand client coverage.
