A former private banker from Santander has joined UBP as a market head for the Middle East.

UBP has appointed Antony Avinash Louis as market head for the Middle East, according to a statement. Based in Dubai, he reports functionally to Mohamed Abdellatif, co-head of Middle East and Africa and locally to Mohamed Shoukry, CEO UBP Middle East.

Avinash has over 20 years of private banking experience across the UAE and Singapore. He was most recently working at Santander Private Banking as a team leader of global non-resident Indians (NRI) and international clients. Previously, he also worked at Julius Baer, Société Générale and DBS.

«Antony’s experience in team management and business development will be instrumental as UBP continues to strengthen its position in the region and on the NRI segment,» commented Abdellatif.
