Geneva-headquartered Union Bancaire Privée has hired a 30-year veteran as its market head for the Philippines, finews.asia has learned.
UBP has appointed Jamian Lai as market head for the Philippines, according to an internal memo seen by finews.asia. Based in Hong Kong, he reports to Ricardo Choi, head of Philippines.
Lai has around 30 years of private banking and private markets experience. He was most recently a venture partner and head of investor relations at venture capital firm Headline Asia. Prior to that, he held private banking roles at UBS, Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan and Standard Chartered.
When contacted, a spokesperson for the bank confirmed the contents of the memo.
