To mark the opening of a Guernsey representative office in Hong Kong, several leading figures from Hong Kong and Guernsey will make up a panel at a launch event.
Among those lined up are John Wong, Tax Partner and Hong Kong & China National Leader at PwC, Andrew Chan, Head of Trust and Fiduciary Services for the Greater China region at Standard Chartered, William Mason, Director General of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC), and Guernsey practitioners Marcus Leese, Partner of offshore law firm Ogier, and Mark Huntley, Managing Director of Heritage International Fund Managers.
The event will take place at The China Club in Central on Wednesday 2 March and will focus on the current economic climate and the services offered by Guernsey’s international finance centre.
Asian Thrust
The office is the promotional agency’s second overseas outpost, following the opening of its Shanghai office in 2008.
«We are delighted to have secured John and Andrew on our panel of experts. They are leaders in their respective fields and will be able to share with us their experience and knowledge of the markets of Hong Kong and wider South East Asia,» said Chairman of Guernsey Finance, the promotional agency for the Island’s finance industry internationally, and former Chief Minister of Guernsey Dominic Wheatley.
