Last week former top-banker Sallie Krawcheck opened the doors on her woman centric digital platform Ellevest. So what about Asia?
Sallie Krawcheck (pictured below) is of the opinion that the investing industry has been, «by men, for men» and has historically kept women from achieving their financial goals.
She has a well-recognised track record having led Merrill Lynch, Smith Barney and Citi Private as CEO. Now she wants to empower women to reach their financial and professional goals. Her new business is based in and aimed at the U.S. market.
Is It Asia's Time Now?
So what about Asia? This region is where the growth is and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. The digital investment opportunity aimed at females in the region who are both financially and technically savvy is surely enormous.
A carefully crafted and delivered web based offering across Asia, aimed at the substantial strata of women planning for their own financial futures, on their own terms, would surely succeed. A dormant multi billion dollar market lies ready to be tapped in to.

Asian wealth management also has its fair share of high achieving women who have accomplished many would say, much more than Krawcheck.
In North Asia Kathryn Shih, (pictured below) President UBS Asia Pacific, has in her 28 years with the Swiss bank propelled it to be the number one private bank in the region.
In Southeast Asia Tan Su Shan (pictured below) has been driving the steady growth of the wealth management units at Singapore's largest bank DBS with great success.
Will one of these women soon be stepping up to lead a new digital wealth manager aimed at the fifty percent in Asia?
