Melbourne headquartered ANZ Bank has announced the appointment of a new Chief Compliance Officer, the new appointee will report to Group Chief Risk Officer Nigel Williams.
The new man chosen to head up compliance is Michael Liarakos.
Liarakos (pictured) has more than 30 years’ experience in audit, risk and compliance roles and has been Group General Manager Internal Audit since 2008.
He will replace Mark Evans who has been appointed Managing Director Transaction Banking.
As part of the reshuffle Sandra Burns has been appointed Acting Group General Manager Internal Audit, while an internal recruitment process is undertaken.
