DBS bank said it will introduce a new «matchmaker» service aimed at small- and mid-sized companies solve business problems.
Firms can submit a so-called DBS Techmatch request online describing their business problem. A DBS team will then connect the firm to existing solutions in point-of-sale systems, inventory management software, customer relationship management systems, and similar solutions.
For small and mid-sized firms looking for more specific technology and expertise, IPI Singapore will trawl its international network and database for technology opportunities.
Five-Day Hackathon
The «matchmaker» is one of a host of measures aimed at small- and mid-sized firms, or SMEs. These are underpinned with stimulus such as automation support packages, introduced to help offset the costs associated with implementing new technology and building capabilities.
For SMEs with business problems that do not have ready-made technology solutions, Infocomm will put them through a five-day «SPRINT Hack» together with university students. After a public demonstration of the proposed solutions, SME business owners will then work with the students to implement the suggestions.
