ANZ Bank has made an internal reshuffle promoting from within as they appoint a new Chief Investment Officer for Wealth in Australia.

Mark Rider, who joined ANZ in 2013 as Head of Investment Strategy and Asset Allocation where he has been responsible for the management of ANZ’s $30 billion multi-asset funds in Australia and New Zealand, steps into the new role.

Rider succeeds Stewart Brentnall who is leaving ANZ to take up another senior CIO opportunity in the Australian industry.

Prior to joining ANZ, Rider spent 16 years at UBS in senior economics and global asset management roles and before that spent 10 years at the Reserve Bank of Australia as an economist.

As Chief Investment Officer, he will be responsible for delivering the overarching investment strategy, including asset allocation, investment themes, product selection and monitoring, his new position is effective from 10 March 2017.
