There have been major upheavals in the shareholding structure of Swiss derivatives firm Leonteq in recent months. The latest new major investor is well known.
Leonteq has a new major shareholder, he is the former Hedge-funds manager and UBS's board member Rainer Marc Frey. Frey now holds a total of 7.46 percent of the issued and outstanding shares of the company, Leonteq said.
Leonteq was notified by Frey that he held, on 10 March 2017 and on 13 March 2017, 785,000 and 1,015,000 registered shares in Leonteq AG, representing 4.92 percent and 6.37 percent of the issued and outstanding shares following the purchase of shares by H21 Macro, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, a fund managed by Horizon21 AG.

In addition, Frey informed Leonteq, that as of 15 March 2017, he indirectly holds over H21 Macro 1,190,000 registered shares, representing 7.46 of the issued and outstanding shares in Leonteq AG.
Leonteq slipped into red figures last year. The share price of the company has fallen from 226 to 34 Swiss francs in the last 20 months. Last summer, Leonteq had a new shareholder, the subsidiary company Veraison of Gregor Greber .
But Greber threw the towel after a few months. The Raiffeisen Group also accounted for 29 percent of the existing shareholders of Leonteq. Together with the Leonteq founders Jan Schoch, Sandro Dorigo and Lukas Ruflin, the cooperative bank forms a shareholder group which holds 44.3 per cent.
