UBS Wealth Management has appointed a new Global Head of Alternatives & Syndicate Distribution. In a coup for the Asian business the role is based in Hong Kong.

In a note seen by finews.asia the Swiss firm announced that Bryan Crawford has been appointed to the role of Head of Alternatives & Syndicate Distribution for UBS Wealth Management on a global basis.

Crawford takes up the position with immediate effect.

He will report to Dominic Vail (Head of Investment Product and Services Distribution Management (IPS DM) and will join the IPS DM Management Committee.

Strategically Important Business

Crawford will be responsible for the distribution, across all channels, of Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Real Estate, and Sustainable Investing. Leading global distribution for each of the Alternatives asset classes

Reporting to him will be Tomas Hricko (Hedge Funds), Boris Maeder (Private Markets, covering both private equity and real estate), and Karsten Guettler (Sustainable Investing).

The note states that Crawford will also lead UBS' Syndicate business, which will be responsible for engaging UBS Investment Bank, external distributors and UBS Wealth Management clients in the distribution of public equity and debt capital markets transactions.
