Credit Suisse has appointed a new CEO for Japan. He will join in mid-November. The present chief executive is leaving the bank.
As CEO of Japan, Makoto Kuwahara (pictured above) will have oversight of Credit Suisse’s business and regulatory activities in Japan and will steer the company’s franchise, the Swiss bank said in a media release on Tuesday.
He will the join the bank in mid-November and will report to Helman Sitohang, CEO Asia Pacific. Kuwahara is replacing Martin Keeble who is leaving the bank.
More Than 20 Years with Deutsche Bank
Kuwahara joins from Deutsche Bank, where he has worked for the past 21 years, including most recently as chief country officer in Japan since 2013, and previously in a variety of senior roles in global markets.
«Japan is a core part of our Asia Pacific division strategy, and Makoto Kuwahara will build on the success of our business in this market,» Sitohang said.
