Credit Suisse's Australia CEO is expected to announce his resignation and step down in the coming days after 23 years with the bank.

John Knox is reportedly expected to announce his exit from the bank in the coming days after joining in 1995 fresh out of university.

In his 23-year career with Credit Suisse, Knox held multiple senior roles in investment banking before being appointed as the CEO of Australia in 2015. In 2007, Knox was made the New York co-head of investment banking.

Recent expansion

Knox’s exit follows recent expansion at the senior level in Credit Suisse’s Australia arm. Just two months ago, the bank announced the appointment of Stephen Pickles as managing director and head of industrials, and Daniel Rana as head of consumer and retail in the Melbourne office.

Prior to their new roles, Pickles was the co-head of industrials at J.P. Morgan and Rana was transferred from the bank’s New York-based office.
