She will be responsible for ING's wholesale strategy in APAC and the performance of its wholesale banking business across 14 markets in the region.

ING Bank has appointed Krista Baetens as CEO of ING Wholesale Banking Asia Pacific, the bank announced in a statement on Wednesday.

She succeeds Gerrit Stoelinga, who held the position since 2016. Based in Singapore, Baetens will report to Isabel Fernandez, global head of ING Wholesale Banking.

Baetens is no stranger to Asia Pacific and Singapore, having been based in the city-state from 2005 to 2012, holding roles like chief of staff of ING Wholesale Banking Asia, head of Corporate and FI Lending in Asia, and head of Wholesale Banking in Singapore and South East Asia. She began her career with ING in 1998, in a corporate risk role in Hong Kong. In her most recent appointment, which began in October 1026, she was chief risk officer and member of the Executive Committee for ING in Belgium.
