The business insurance specialist has added two insurance industry stalwarts to its body that provides leadership oversight of QBE Asia.
Sydney-based QBE has appointed Michael Gourlay and Yen Saw as non-executive directors of the QBE Asia Advisory Board, effective January 2020, the firm announced in a statement on Wednesday.
Gourlay, who will chair the Asia Advisory Board, is a 40-year industry veteran, with operational and strategic experience at a group, regional and country level for MSIG Insurance and Aviva, most notably in the Asia Pacific region. He was previously director and CEO, MSIG Insurance (Singapore) and concurrently, regional head of broker and bancassurance distribution.
Saw brings 30 years' experience in insurance and reinsurance in the Asia Pacific. Until 2016, she was CEO of Tokio Marine Insurance (Malaysia), and also led Aviva’s Indonesian franchise and CIMB’s Assurance business. She currently runs her own consultancy connecting reinsurance companies with investors and tech businesses.
