The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants is rolling out career and learning support initiatives to support accountancy and finance professionals affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

ISCA, Singapore's national accountancy body, has announced the launch of a career microsite, a Covid-19 resource center, a Covid-19 guide for individuals and businesses to relevant support schemes and resources from the government and ISCA, and e-learning through live webinars and online modules, to address the impact of the outbreak.

The institute noted disruptions in the execution of audit procedures, adjusting operations to comply with Covid-19 measures, loss of business and clients, cashflow issues and the threat of job loss as issues currently affecting the sector.

ISCA said it «looked into the specific challenges facing our members and the accountancy profession, and customized initiatives to address them.» «By dovetailing our initiatives with the government’s support measures, we can provide effective and efficient support for our members during this crucial period,» said CEO Lee Fook Chiew in a statement on Tuesday.

Career Support

The new careers microsite features a career portal and relevant government career schemes for accountancy and finance professionals, as well as details on professional conversion programs and support for employers defray talent acquisition, reskilling and upskilling expenditure.

Finally, a virtual career fair, to be held from 18–31 May will provide job seekers who are keen to explore a career in accounting and finance with access to relevant career resources and insights.
