Not everything was about the collapse of FTX in the crypto industry last year, according to Peter Wuffli. The Ex-UBS CEO, who has been in the financial industry for over 40 years, told finews.tv why traditional players are making inroads into the crypto space.
Peter Wuffli finds himself at the intersection of traditional finance and the digital asset economy. He served as group CEO of UBS from 2001 to 2007 and later chaired the board at private equity firm Partners Group. Now he sits on the board of crypto bank Sygnum which has also a substantial presence in Singapore.
When it comes to the crypto industry, traditional players have gone from being «outright hostile to being cautiously curious,» Wuffli told finews.tv. Currently, Sygnum has partnerships with 17 institutions and is seeing a lot more interest from traditional finance.
Many of these firms are responding to clients, who expect service in the digital asset space, while other players see crypto as a way to attract new clients.
