Julius Baer named a new finance chief in Asia, finews.asia can report exclusively. The move is part of a shuffle of several top executives in the region.
Cédric Heri, currently chief of staff for the Zurich-based bank and a veteran of ex-boss Boris Collardi's CEO office, will head for Asia as finance chief, finews.asia can reveal. A Julius Baer spokesman confirmed the move, which is effective in October.
«In the three years as chief of staff, Cédric Heri has been a trusted partner for the entire executive team in the implementation of the bank's strategy and was a great support in my CEO role over the last months,» Julius Baer CEO Bernhard Hodler, who replaced Collardi abruptly late last year, wrote to staff.
Regional Shuffle
The region's current finance chief, Frank Keller, will take on a new job as head of business development for Japan, emerging Asia, and intermediaries. This area is overseen by veteran private banker Angela Bow.
Heri spent four years at Clariden Leu before moving to work alongside Collardi in 2012, then taking the broader staff function three years ago. He is being replaced in Zurich by a veteran of Asia: Tobias Murer, who is currently operating chief in Hong Kong and deputy operating chief of Asia, will return to Switzerland after 11 years in the region to replace Heri, the bank said.
Replacement in Hong Kong
In turn Benjamin Sim, the current head of business management for China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, will replace Murer in Hong Kong. Sim will continue to report to Asia operating chief Andreas Zingg.
