Katherine Lai has resigned from her role, a source familiar with the matter told finews.asia. Her departure from the German lender which has been on a hiring spree for most of the year is a blow: Lai is a 13-year veteran of Deutsche's private bank in Asia.
She was promoted to operating chief in north Asia less than one year ago. Overall Asia head Lok Yim appeared to have stabilized the unit following the shock departure of former head Ravi Raju for UBS two years ago. Lai is the only high-ranking wealth executive who Yim hasn't managed to retain following Raju's bolting. Yim was promoted last month for his efforts.
