The new appointment holder, who will also be Country Head, Singapore, has had an extensive career with ANZ in senior positions in Asia and Australia.
The Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) has named Vishnu Shahaney as Head of South East Asia, India and Middle East, a role that also includes Country Head, Singapore, the bank said in a press release on Wednesday.
Shahaney currently CEO of PT Bank ANZ Indonesia, a role he has held since 2016. He will be based in Singapore and report to Farhan Faruqui, Group Executive, International, and is expected to start in August.
Shahaney is no stranger to the city-state – he was ANZ's former CEO, Singapore from 2011 to 2016, and held a number of roles in the decade preceding that, including MD Corporate Banking, and Head of Risk – Corporate and Private Bank.
