Sun Life appoints a two general managers in Hong Kong for distribution and financial affairs.
Steven Fong rejoins the firm to lead all distortion channels including agencies and brokerages, effective January 23. He rejoins after leaving in 2018 where he was last its chief agency officer.
The insurer also appoints Martin Fortier as its general manager of financial affairs to oversee strategy development and matters regarding finance, actuarial, risk, asset liability management, investment and trustee business. Fortier previously had more than 25 years of experience and joins from Sun Life Malaysia where he was most recently its chief risk officer.
New Project
Fong replaces incumbent Belinda Au who will be leading a new project within the Sun Life Asia office, according to a statement, with more details to be disclosed at a later stage. The statement lauded Au’s seven years with the firm calling her a «top-notch business leader» that helped double the agency force size under her watch.
