He joins in July from Sydney-based IFM Investors, where he was a director responsible for leading new business development to institutional accounts in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
U.S. private equity giant KKR has appointed Nicholas Hyde as managing director to lead its Client Partner Group in Australia and New Zealand, the firm announced on Thursday in a statement.
Based in Sydney, Hyde will be responsible for managing and growing the firm's client relationships in Australia and New Zealand, raising capital for its private and public markets strategies, and leading new business development for the region, the announcement said. He will work closely with KKR’s senior team in Australia and the region, including Australia head Scott Bookmyer and Diane Raposio, head of Client and Partner Group in Asia Pacific and regional head of capital markets.
Hyde has three decades' experience in the industry. Before IFM, he was a managing director of institutional business development at Wellington Management in Sydney, and previously held senior sales roles at investment banks including Deutsche Bank, Citi and JP Morgan in London, New York and Sydney.
Important Market
KKR said Australia is an «increasingly important market globally» and has made several senior appointments to support this push, including Ben Hall, managing director and head of credit, and Andrew Jennings, a director who leads its infrastructure business there.
The firm has been investing in the Australian market since 2006, with more than A$9 billion ($6 billion) of equity in companies across asset classes, including Arnott’s, Australian Venue, Findex, GenesisCare, Laser Clinics Australia, Latitude Financial Services, MYOB and Pepper Group.
