State Street Global Advisors has expanded its exchange-traded fund unit in the region with four new appointments.
SSGA has hired Kathleen Gallagher as head of SPDR ETFs Australia, according to a statement, in addition to her current role as head of ETF model portfolios APAC and EMEA.
Gallagher relocates from U.K. to Sydney for her new role which includes responsibilities to lead, manage and develop the ETF business in Australia, alongside the ETF model portfolios business in APAC and EMEA, across all channels.
Ex-World Gold Council investment product and research manager Robin Tsui has also been appointed to the expanded role of gold sales specialist in addition to his existing role as APAC gold strategist.
Fixed Income ETF
SSGA also announced the appointment of two newly created fixed income ETF roles with the hire of Marie Tsang as a SPDR fixed income strategist for Asia Pacific and Jean Gan as a SPDR fixed income sales specialist for Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia.
Tsang joins from Blackrock where she was most recently a senior investment strategist for the firm’s portfolio analysis and solutions
Gan was most recently with MUFG Securities where she was last a director for institutional investor sales. Previously, she held various fixed income, derivatives and structured products sales roles at J.P. Morgan, Societe Generale, Citibank and UBS.
Gallagher, Tsui, Tsang and Gan all report to Sydney-based Meaghan Victor, head of SPDR ETFs APAC distribution.
