He succeeds Brenda Harvey, who returns to the United States to take up a senior role within IBM.
IBM has appointed Paul Burton as general manager of its Asia Pacific (APAC) business, the company announced on Wednesday.
Burton brings over 20 years of experience in global sales, operations, and P&L management in data and analytics and has logged successful tenures at Genpact, IBM, and Hewlett-Packard. He joins from Mastech Infotrellis, where he was the CEO, responsible for driving the growth of the company's data and analytics business.
Burton will be responsible for all strategic and operational matters related to IBM's sales, marketing, services and delivery operations across Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, Korea, India and the Greater China region, including Hong Kong and Taiwan. Additionally, he will play a critical role in enabling IBM’s capabilities across its global centers of excellence, and research and innovation labs in the region.
