Barclays continues to strengthen its investment banking business in Asia, this time with the appointment of two veterans as co-heads for Greater China.
Carrie Chen and Raymond Yu have been appointed co-heads of investment banking, Greater China, according to a statement, effective immediately.
Based in Hong Kong, the two will both report to APAC head of investment banking Vanessa Koo and work in close collaboration with China country chief executive Angela Liu, Hong Kong branch CEO Anthony Davies and other colleagues across the investment bank.
«Both [Chen] and [Yu] are seasoned bankers with a proven and consistent track record in Greater China deal-making, coupled with their strong leadership experience and complementary backgrounds,» said Koo. «It gives me great pleasure to elevate top talent and to appoint them as my successor to lead Greater China investment banking.»
Expanded Role
The two have been appointed to the new role, in addition to their existing responsibilities.
20-year industry veteran Chen is currently Greater China vice chairman of investment banking after joining Barclays in 2020.
Yu joined Barclays in 2009 as is currently its APAC head of power and utilities as well as China head of real estate.
