A nearly 20-year Standard Chartered veteran has been named the Asia-focused British lender’s head of wealth management for Taiwan.

Standard Chartered has named Samrat Khosla as head, wealth management, Taiwan, according to a statement, reporting to Kate Lin, head, CPBB (consumer, private, business banking), Taiwan, as well as Marc Van de Walle, global head of wealth management.

Khosla will relocate to Taiwan on 1 May and transition into his new role, pending regulatory approvals.

Khosla first joined Standard Chartered in 2003 in India in various retail banking and wealth management roles before relocating to Singapore to join the group wealth management team in 2010 and taking on the role of group head of life insurance. In 2020, he returned to India to lead the country’s wealth business which grew 26 percent year-on-year in 2021.
