Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC has announced the appointment of a new deputy chairman.
GIC appoints Lawrence Wong as deputy chairman, according to a statement, effective October 1. In the role, he will assist the chairman to lead the board in overseeing GIC’s long-term asset allocation and portfolio performance. Wong has been a GIC director since 1 November 2018 and chairman of the investment strategies committee since 7 July 2023.
In addition, Wong is also Singapore’s current deputy prime minister, minister for finance, chairman of the Monetary Authority of Singapore and chairman of Singapore Economic Development Board’s International Advisory Council.
